Come and experience Liverpool’s Katumba Drumming & Movement – with a Brazilian twist! In 4 sessions, learn the basics of drumming, rhythm, technique & movement in our ‘Introduction to the Katumba Experience’

Our community band ‘Katumba Bloco’ truly represents what Liverpool is about; welcoming to all, fun, colourful, and full of character – with a Brazilian spirit (and a real Brazilian as your teacher ????)

Join us for four weeks of fun both on and off the drums! Our Intro to the Katumba Experience will give you a taste of all the elements that are part of our Katumba drumming life, and always with the aim of accessibility to all, supporting your wellbeing, and having loads of fun!

EveryBODY is invited – no experience necessary, and complete beginners completely welcome!

Open to ALL ages (18+) with no prior experience needed! We are also encouraging people of different ethnicities to take part – whilst we have drummers from all over the world, we always make a conscious effort to increase our diversity.

**Low income and free spaces available for BAME/PoC /those in financial hardship **

I am a student – does that count as low income?
Yes, absolutely. All those who count as students/concessions are welcome to pay the low income rate. Please get in touch here.

What does “Intro To The Katumba Experience” mean?
After the “Intro To Katumba Experience”, you can choose to join us on our journey by becoming a Katumba Member.

Do I need to do this course to join the band?
Yes. Unless you are already a very experienced percussionist, this is the best route for you to join the band.

By doing this course will I be in the band?
No – there are several parts to your learning journey and it will take some time before you are ready to perform as part of the band. It also depends on what drums are available. However, you will absolutely be part of our Katumba community, and we welcome everybody with open arms!
