This bank holiday weekend, catch us drumming, moving and parading across Merseyside and Cheshire with three performances at some fantastic family-friendly events. Full details below!

It’s important to mention – whilst we’re taking part in the Jubilee celebrations, we don’t support the history of colonisation and slavery.

The foundation of Carnival is resistence; a protest created by people who were excluded from the mainstream. Costume, dance and music was an expression of liberation and freedom from the constraints of the past following the emancipation of slavery.

For us it will always hold this meaning, from the streets of Brazil to the streets of Liverpool. Our empowering art form takes space, bring communities together, and gives everyone a voice to dismantle systems of class and oppression – the monarchy included.

What we do celebrate, is diversity. And this weekend we’ll be bringing our fierce positivity and a load of Brazilian drums in full force!

THURS 2nd JUNE – 11am-3pm – Wirral Change: Multicultural Platinum Jubilee (FREE)
