We are so excited to be announcing our 2024 Katumba Trip to Percumon Festival in Valencia, Spain! CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP TO THE TRIP!
Percumon is the annual International Afro-Brazilian Percussion Festival that takes place in Sagunto and Puerto de Sagunto. Percumon was born in 2015 and is, nowadays, a reference among the batucada festivals in Europe, becoming a cultural bridge with Brazil! Our co-founder, Juliana crafts personalised travel adventures inspired by her own globetrotting experiences! She has also taken part as a drummer in MANY national and international festivals and workshops of this kind – the biggest and best one being obvs Brazilian carnival!!! She’s lived and travelled all over, and now she’s bringing those incredible opportunities to YOU! Every year, we fine-tune our experiences to make them even better. So, here’s why you should join us on our 2024 Percumon trip:
Searching & Finding the BEST Festivals – Juliana has explored various drumming festivals that aligned with Katumba’s values: inclusive, welcoming, diverse, in great locations, and featuring amazing international guest teachers. After numerous less- than – ideal experiences (you can ask her for some stories!), she was so excited to find Percumon & is delighted to now be sharing it with you!
You might have 99 problems in life, but this trip ain’t one! – There’s a ton of organising, coordinating – in SPANISH – that goes into planning this trip, before even arriving in Spain! Katumba will be sorting out registration, accommodation, drum hire, activity coordination, reservations and MORE! All you have to do is turn up, drum your hearts out and enjoy! ❤️
Accommodation – Juliana has tried and tested different accommodations to find the best suitable one for us! We have considered elements like the distance to the festival, quality, cost, and have even provided different options (which you can pick below!)… Also, any probs with the hotel reservations, she’ll sort it for you (no, they don’t speak much English).
During the Festival – Juliana’s gonna be your lifeline, staying in the loop with the organisers and keeping you posted on any last-minute changes (you know how it goes in Spain)! Plus, she knows all the best spots to grub, chill, and catch some sun on the beach. And let’s not forget, with all the Spanish & Portuguese flying around and those Brazilian guest teachers this year, Juliana’s gonna be our go-to translator, making sure we don’t miss a beat!

1. Campsite (bring your own tent 🏕 ) – 2 nights camping in the festival campsite – £295 per person
2. Shared Twin Room – 2 nights accommodation – £500 per person – w/ breakfast, pool & walking distance to the festival and beach.
3. Private Single Room – 2 nights accommodation – £600 per person – w/ breakfast, pool & walking distance to the festival and beach.
4. Extra night at the hotel – If you wish to stay extra nights at the hotel (e.g. arriving the Thursday/ leaving on the Monday) then it will be an extra £60 a night for a shared room or an extra £100 for a private room.
