We will look after any personal information that you share with us. We want to ensure that everyone feels assured about how any personal information they share will be looked after or used.

• We only use personal information in ways we need to and that is expected of us
• We will keep you up to date on all our activities only if you have previously told us that’s OK
• We will ensure that it is easy for you to tell us how you want us to communicate with you, including how to opt out from future communications and we will respect your request straight away

How we collect personal information about you 

When you interact with Katumba Drumming & Movement we may collect personal information about you. This could happen if you inquire about our activities, register to join our band, purchase our merchandise, or apply for a job whether through email, our website, phone or in person.

What information do we collect?

The personal information we collect might include your contact details such as name, date of birth, email address, postal address, telephone number, as well as information you provide in any correspondence between us.  It may also include photographs and films of productions that you appear in.

We also gather anonymous information through our website which does not identify individual visitors but tells us about the use of our website, such as which pages users visit most often and which services or events are of most interest.

How do we use personal information?

We may use your personal information to:

• Administer activities relating to our services and keep you updated with our activities and plans. This may be letting you know about upcoming events and fundraising activities. We will only do this either with your consent, where we need to fulfil a contract or service with you, or where we believe you will expect to be updated and contacted by us.
• Improve your experience with us. We may use your information for feedback to improve our service, communications and information. 

Your Rights

We’d like to keep you up to date with our activities and events and will keep in touch with your by phone, email, text and other electronic means. Please be assured that our staff and volunteers respect any information that you share with us and you can remove or add your consent at any time by contacting hello@katumba.co.uk

In cases where we may need to process your personal information outside the EEA, e.g. storing it on cloud services such as Dropbox, we will comply fully with our legal obligations and take all steps necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with legislation.

Who sees your personal information?

The personal information we collect about you will be used by Katumba Drumming & Movement staff and volunteers so that they can support you. Information may be passed to legal and regulatory authorities if required by law.

We will never sell or share your personal information with other organisations.

We take the security of your personal information very seriously. We have put in place appropriate physical, technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold. We only keep your personal information as long as is reasonable and necessary, which may be to fulfil statutory obligations, e.g., keeping finance records.
