Free Arts Activities this October Half Term – Bubble Up Toxteth
This October Half Term! Free performing arts activities and workshops for kids in Liverpool, including drumming, dance, capoeira and story-telling.
Bubble Up Toxteth is back THIS OCTOBER HALF TERM, and we’re on the lookout for #youngpeople aged around 11-13 to join us for more FREE #covidsafe arts activities!
Delivered by Movema, Katumba Drumming, Capoeira For All & LUMA Creations, participants will dive into the myth and magic of the orishas (or Orixás) – traditionally from West Africa – through drumming, dance, storytelling and capoeira workshops!
Sometimes known as ‘Afrocentric Superheroes’, Orishas are forces of nature uniting the otherworld and humanity, each with powers, downfalls and legendary stories! We’ll also continue to build on previous themes of identity, creativity, diversity and communication explored in our summer workshops to connect, build confidence and have fun
AND for those that wish to, participants will PERFORM their new skills on Saturday 31st October at The Bombed Out Church, Liverpool, forming part of ‘Katumba’s Hallows Eve of the Orishas’!
